[renting] bikes in Szczecin

Hi there!

 

First of all, sorry for speaking English, but I can't speak Polish and I'm looking for good bikes to rent in Szczecin.  

 

I need four bikes and we want to cycle from Szczecin to Kołobrzeg in two days.  So what I'm looking for are proper Touring or Trekking bikes (and none of those city bikes which is all I can find online)

 

I would be grateful for any oiece of advice since online searches haven't been particularly helpful.

I don't have any first-hand experience in renting bikes in Szczecin(apart from the CityBikes) but a quick google-fu revealed these two options:

Although the second one seems to offer rentals only in Międzyzdroje or Świnoujście...

 

When are you heading this way? Perhaps there will be more options once the summer season kicks in?

We arrive in Szczecin on 5.5. and return on 7.5., so yes, maybe something else will come up til then.

No worries, I'm gonna be in Szczecin in just over a week so I'll check local bike shops and see if there's anywhere else that does bike rentals.

 

Only if you want to, you can PM me with the height of the cyclists(and any specific requirements) so I'll know what bikes/equipment to ask for. The maps should be readily available online, should you prefer paper jobbies, I could get some for you. Sadly I'm heading back home-abroad before your visit to Szczecin but let me know if you need anything else and I'm sure we can sort something out!

That is very kind and it would be super-helpful, so thanks a lot for this!

 

The four guys are all about 180cm (one, two centimeters more or less).

 

I called the first bike shop you posted, they were very friendly and professional, just the price tag was a bit steep (40 Euros/ day).  Since we'll be coming from and returning to Berlin, we  might just rent the bikes there because a good Touring bike is 40 Euros for three days.  

 

However, if you'll be passing by these bike shops in Szczecin anyway, any more info is welcome of course.

Absolutely no problem there - it's always nice to help fellow cyclists!

 

€40 is quite steep indeed, for comparison the LBS I work at charges £18 per day/£10 additional day/£45 per week. Demand and supply I guess...

 

Once I'm there I'll see what I can do, I'll keep you posted!
